Happy Mothers’ Day

I just love Krishna Das’s “Door of Faith,” and especially “Sita’s Prayer / Hey Mata Durga.” I think it’s appropriate today.

Glory to you O Daughter of the Mountain
Who looks upon Lord Shiva as a partridge on the moon.
Ganesh and Kartikeya are not your only children,
For you are the shining Mother of all of the creation.

via Krishna Das – Translations, Lyrics & Notes.

I especially love the catch in his voice when he sings this.
