Hip Hop is in the trees

Today is day one of the spring cleanse with Cate Stillman. I kind of got a jump on it yesterday, avoiding addictive substances, and eating fresh, light and raw, but last night was the kickoff con call. Although this kapha had a few minutes’ difficulty getting out of bed, I started the day with many of the six practices, including a brisk walk. It was another beautiful spring morning to be out, despite the paltry 36°F. Though the cleanse means I’ll be on a social media diet, and trying to limit my computer time as much as is possible in grading season, I did want to share this little snippet that mulched up out of my walk.

Don’t need my stinkin’ iPod today
Hip hop is in the trees
Ambient rush of water beyond, beneath the mists that rise
Warblers pour out their liquid percussion
While the state bird whistles not for “Phoebe! Phoebe!” but
“Remix! Remix!”

Remix your life this spring day, and strive to be well.
